Yesterday around 1800 hours, 137 Rescue was dispatched into the Borough of Churchill with other mutual aid units for a moderate smoke condition inside one of the Westinghouse buildings. While en route, 137 Rescue was diverted to Lewin Lane and Beulah Road in Churchill for a motor vehicle crash with reported entrapment. 137 Rescue arrived on scene to find no entrapment. The rescue crew would remove the debris from the roadway and assist with traffic control.
After clearing the MVA, 137 units were still requested to continue to Westinghouse. Crews would operate on scene for an extended period of time dealing with an electrical fire. At the same time, 137 Chief assisted with a land slide on Lewin Lane and 137 Assistant and 278 QRS (Swissvale) handled an overdose back in the Borough.
Subsequently, all 137 units then cleared from all the working incidents and responded to Wilkins Primary School in the 302 District for a large electrical transformer fully involved spreading to the school. 227 Chief and 303 Attack arrived on scene to find a working transformer fire. There ended up being negative extension into the school. 137 units would operate on scene for an extended period of time before being released back into service.
