Another Busy 24 Hours

A little over the past 24 hours, the members of the EVFD have been busy answering 11 calls for service thus far.

Yesterday afternoon, 137 Rescue responded into the Borough of Rankin for reported house on fire. While en route, it was confirmed of a working fire. 137 Rescue was initially assigned to RIT, but was quickly reassigned to suppression due to the size of the building and manpower needed to coordinate fire attack. 137 Rescue crew assisted other mutual aid departments with interior fire suppression efforts. 137 Engine, Service, and Squad would join later in the incident. Overall, 137 units operated on scene for roughly 5 hours before being released.

Overnight, after clearing a possible fire in Swissvale, 137 Chief, Rescue, and Engine responded back into Swissvale for a vehicle into a utility pole. 278 Truck arrived on scene to find an SUV into a pole with severe damage. The vehicle was also heavily involved in fire. 137 units assisted 278 with fire attack and overhaul. Crews operated on scene for an extended period.

This afternoon, 137 Engine and Service responded into the Borough of Braddock Hills for reported house on fire. 207 Chief arrived and reported a working fire. 137 units arrived on scene and assisted North Braddock and mutual aid companies with suppression operations. Units would operate on scene for roughly an hour before being released back into service.
