It was a busy weekend for the members of the EVFD. Personnel responded to 8 total runs with 5 of them being for reported fires.
On Saturday evening, 137 Rescue, Engine, and Service responded into the borough of Homestead for three houses on fire. 137 crews split for RIT and fire suppression operations. The EVFD operated on scene for several hours before returning. (Photo Credit: EVFD)
On Sunday afternoon, 137 Engine and Service responded into the Borough of Swissvale for a working vehicle fire at a gas station. 278 Engine arrived to find a working vehicle fire next to the gas pumps. 137 units arrived and assisted in operations along with controlling a gasoline spill. Units operated on scene for over an hour before being released.
Late Sunday night, 137 Rescue responded into the Wilkins Twp for a working dwelling fire. 137 Rescue arrived and established RIT operations on side D. Ground ladders were thrown to allow egress for interior crews. 137 Rescue returned after operating on scene for roughly 2 hours.
