Tonight, around 9pm, units in Wilkins Township were dispatched to the 1100 block of Penn Center Boulevard for an automatic fire alarm. The assignment was quickly upgraded to a building fire as units arrived, finding heavy smoke and fire on the 4th and 5th floors.
Due to the heavy occupancy, the incident was upgraded to a second and third alarm, dispatching 137 units for support. 137 Engine immediately marked en route with 6 interior firefighters, followed quickly by 137 Rescue and Squad. 137 crews assisted in searching smoke-filled floors, bringing multiple residents out of the building safe, as well as assisting in overhaul in the fire-rooms.
