Today, around 1545 hours, units were dispatched for a reported house fire in the 10 block of Croft Ct. in Churchill. 137 Rescue was dispatched for RIT and immediately marked en route with 6, all of whom were both interior and RIT qualified. Police arrived on scene and reported fire at the top of the 2nd floor stairs.
137 Rescue arrived on scene just after 122 Rescue, who stretched an 1 3/4 handline to the 2nd floor. 137 Rescue split crews, setting up RIT operations, completing a 360 of the structure, and laddering the 2nd floor windows. Manpower from 137 was also sent inside to assist 122 with interior operations.
122 Chief placed the fire under control at 1611, approximately 25 minutes after dispatch. 137 Rescue remained on scene for another 20 minutes assisting with salvage and overhaul. The fire damaged the 2nd floor bedroom, bathroom, and office.
